During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the National 863 Program focused on outstanding problems such as low raw material utilization, extensive production processes, high resource and energy consumption, and serious environmental pollution in traditional biological processes, and systematically deployed key technologies and equipment for biological process research. Focused on process optimization and control technologies, efficient bioreactors, advanced separation technologies and equipment, and developed a number of high-efficiency, low-cost new technologies for bioprocess engineering.
